What is a dune? A silly question?. Everyone knows that a dune is a huge pile of sand along the coastlines and beaches of many countries so why ask the question?
Through my previous blogs we have seen that Namibia is a country of differences. When I first asked friends and family their ideas of what Namibia is like 90% said sand dunes, desert and a dangerous coastline but it is much more than that.
One of the best days we had while in Gobabis, the 2nd time we were there, was a visit to Harnas Wildlife Foundation.
From Etosha we drove the 110 kms to Tsumeb where we were to spend the night at the Minen Hotel, a beautiful place in the old German style.
A year after our first visit we went to Gobabis, Namibia again but this time we flew from Durban to Johannesburg to Windhoek where Lyn met us and drove us the 2 hours back to Gobabis.
To be able to see more of Namibia, after a few days in Gobabis, Trevor, Lyn and I went on a week’s holiday to the West Coast of the country, to a small fishing town of Hentie’s Bay.

It was great to know that we would be settled for a while as we would be spending a fortnight with Lyn & Tyrone in Gobabis. During this time we would visit a big cat farm and drive right across the country to spend a week in Hentjies Bay.
