Today, the final day of our holiday, we visited the Seville Cathedral and the Jewish District of Seville.
We sailed out of Monaco at 21:00 to our second and final stop in France, Marseilles in Provence.
Our 2nd cruise ended in Antwerp, Belgium and it was wet, wet, wet!
We remained docked at Xanten and travelled by bus to the town of Wesel.
This blog is a continuation of my previous one where I talked about discovering places and buildings besides the well-known Cathedral.
While the passengers were asleep the boat quietly sailed away from Koblenz at 02:00 and arrived in Cologne (Koln in German) 6 hours later.
We continued sailing down the Rhine and, while most were still asleep, we arrived in the town of Speyer at 06:00.
We arrived in Kehl just before 08:00 on the Saturday morning to find the coaches waiting to transport us across the Rhine to the city of Strasbourg.
We arrived at Breisach am Rhein, the full name of the town, at 07:00. Our inclusive excursion today, which departed at 08:30, was not a walking one, but we were taken into the Black Forest to visit a glasswork factory and a Cuckoo Clock making factory.
On our first morning in Basel, we woke rather late, but breakfast was served until 11:00 so we didn’t miss out. Before going to breakfast, though, we called at Reception to arrange breakfasts for the week and a very nice young man on duty gave us discounts as Senior Citizens…
