Our first stop in France was the City-State of Monaco.
Our excursion for this day sounded quite exotic, a cruise on the Italian Riviera or Riviera di Levante.
From Giardini-Naxos in Sicily we sailed across to the mainland of Italy to visit the town of Sorrento which overlooks the Bay of Naples.
Our next port of call was Giardini-Naxos in Sicily where the ship had to anchor outside of the harbour, so we had to go to the town by Tender.
Travelling from Crete to Malta, 525 nautical miles, took 40 hours which meant spending a day at sea.
Another day means another exciting place to visit. Today it is the Palace of Knossos in Heraklion, Crete.
After such a wonderful day in Sardis we were really looking forward to discovering Kos, a Greek Island in the Aegean Sea.
Today, Monday, we were still in Turkey but in the port of Izmir. It turned out to be a really good day as we went on an excursion to the old city of Sardis and to the Temple of Artemis.
Today could only be an improvement on yesterday and all its irritations. We had a wonderful day discovering Istanbul as the ship remained in the port until that evening.
We had spent the morning walking around Antwerp and then, after lunch on the ship, Trevor and I decided to go back to visit the MAS (Museum aan de Stroom).
