Our good fortune held and we woke to another day of beautiful weather. We had been told that previous expedition had not been able to land once out of 5 planned landings due to foggy weather.
What a blessing to have another day of beautiful weather and so be able to go on another expedition. We had been given many warnings on the unpredictable weather frequently experienced in this area.
Our 2nd expedition was to Charlotte Bay on Munsier Point where we were treated to even more penguins, seals and some whales, plus beautiful icebergs and glaciers.
At last, we reached the Antarctic Peninsula, a strip of the continent which extends from the mainland to the Northeast.
Before continuing with the posts of our daily activities on this trip, I thought that it would be interesting and fun to know more about the ship itself.
We docked in Tangier, Morocco but the 2 of us had to stay on board as we didn't have a visa. We were disappointed to learn that we had passed Gibraltar during the night.
After the less than exciting day in Alicante, through no fault of our own, we sailed southwards overnight to the port of Almeria.
From Barcelona we sailed south to the city of Alicante where, sadly, we had our most disappointing excursion.
We left France and travelled on to the beautiful city of Barcelona, Spain. The last country we would visit on this trip, with stops in 4 cities and Tangier in Morocco.
We sailed out of Monaco at 21:00 to our second and final stop in France, Marseilles in Provence.
