As always, time just flies when one is busy and has a very exciting trip to plan.
Having written a number of articles on our overseas trip in May 2006 I thought that it might be appropriate to tell you something of our local travels.
As I said in the article, ‘The last few days’, in this, the final article about our first trip overseas, I detail some of what we learned, both helpful and what we could, and should, have done better.
Gradually, our first trip abroad together was coming to an end. We had just 3 days left before we flew home and we had not actually booked any accommodation for our last 3 nights, one in Stratford-on-Avon and the next somewhere near Oxford.

It took just a couple of hours to reach Stonehenge and once again we found that Senior Citizens receive a discount. It was just £1 each but if one did a conversion, at that time it was more than R10 each.
The type and form of transport and accommodation of any holiday depends very much on where and for how long one will be on holiday.
Now we have to decide – do we go to the UK on the Eurostar or do we fly?
Nadia’s family are really very special people whom we have visited twice since. We would love to have them visit us here in South Africa.
From Sestriere, we drove through some stunning Tuscan scenery to Lake Como, a most beautiful spot in Northern Italy.
